About Russell Morgan
Russell is a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and community advocate whose work spans behavioral health, nonprofit development, sports, and digital media. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Russell is a proud husband, father of four and graduate of Morehouse College; where he developed the foundation for a career dedicated to service, innovation, and empowerment.
In 2008, Russell founded Morgan Support Services, a behavioral health provider agency that served nearly 300 individuals while employing more than 200 people across seven counties. The agency operated day programming facilities and residential support homes throughtout the Piedmont Triad providing critical care and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
A year later, he launched SHOPPE Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit designed to go beyond traditional paid services. SHOPPE Inc. focuses on creating extraordinary experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities and anyone fortunate enough to connect with them.
In 2018, Russell expanded his vision with the Showcase Sports Syndicate, an initiative under SHOPPE Inc. dedicated to building an ultra-premium player experience while fostering inclusivity. The Syndicate intentionally bridges people across lines of ability, age, race, culture, and economics—becoming a national model for what’s possible when sports and community intersect. Its first venture, Showcase Basketball, launched in 2019.
Russell’s creativity continued to shine with the 2020 co-founding of Bankshot Media, Inc., a sports, technology, and entertainment platform. Two years later, he launched Say Word FC, a semi-professional soccer club that reflects his passion for athletics, mentorship, and youth development. In 2023, he founded the Ethos Digital Media Lounge, a space designed to inspire creativity and innovation through technology. By 2025, his commitment to workforce development and advocacy led to the creation of DSPros, a movement dedicated to equipping Direct Support Professionals with elite-level skills, certifications, and income opportunities.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Russell is a gifted speaker, writer, music composer, motivator, and self-advocate. His humor, energy, and ability to connect with others make him a respected voice in every arena he touches. He dedicates his free time to coaching youth sports, mentoring young men and boys, and contributing to several social and charitable organizations.
Grounded in faith, family, and service—and with a soft spot for Krispy Kreme donuts—Russell continues to inspire others through his leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to building opportunities where they are needed most.
